Thanks Yukiiiiii! You're trying shadings? Your shading is awesome right now, I'm eager to see what you do with that OwO *eats popcorn* I'll try for sure, people have been telling me about that and I'm also thinking a lot in how to make it more "fluid" or comfortable for me. This is a bit too much to keep in a regular page maybe but I'll keep it for a few pages so that changes are not so sudden -w- Kay speaks more with his face than with his words until now xD

The shading definitely adds a certain amount of 3D to the pages.

But if it takes  you too much time, then maybe trying out a simplier version of shading can help.

That is if that still gives you the right feeling about your pages.

Take the time you need for the pages you want to make, because it’s you story.

Scheduling is handy even when you’re busy, but sometimes a longer pause is still worth the wait!

Aside from that, I am getting curious about how this will end up like.
There seems to be two groups of believe  clashing and that tension can go alot of ways...*patiently but excitedly awaits new page*

Hahaha it's true, you and Viyodre just told me this
I too think that a simplified version of shading would help, also I think I could be more confortable than with this "too detailed" one
I know that taking your time is important, but, as comic readers and makers I think we can agree on the point that interest of the readers in the story is super important (if not the most important), and you have to keep it like gold being slow can be worthy sometimes, but it may turn against you if you let the reader's interest go down by a slow storytelling

Hehe, this is just the beginning! All the pages until now and the next 9/10 will be included in  sort of "Volume 1" I'm printing for my final college proyect, I'll show it when it's done in May/June ^^
The background and "lore" of the world is a very important thing for me and that tension is being developed in the shadows of my mind into more complex things I hope... so stay tuned!

I guess that's the difficult part of uploading comics, making sure you're quick enough to keep peoples attention but also not be so quick you can't develop the story enough.

Ooh you're printing it? That's so cool~ I'm really curious now. I want to print my comics too one day but maybe once everything is done. =w=

That's totally right, it's a difficult task you only realize when you start uploading your comic
Yesss, I'm trying for it to look as "professional" as possible with the printing, hope it turns out well. I'd be curious too if you printed yours, I've seen people here printing and selling their own ones!

Hahaha thanks Max! Do you really think so? I'm having an internal debate about whether I should simplify the shading in the future to do pages faster or keep it like this

kevreau In reply to KayDaKay [2017-03-22 03:59:13 +0000 UTC]

i think you could simplify the shading, and it might look better? currently it almost looks over detailed. maybe try cell shading, if you're comfortable with it, or just simplify the shading

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KayDaKay In reply to kevreau [2017-03-22 23:17:30 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that's one of the options I'm considering right now. Some of you have told me that, and it feels right to simplify for the sake of pace and style, as you and said, it almost feels over detailed and that's one thing I absolutely want to avoid.
But for now, until this introduction/first part of the story ends (it's near! this is just the start!) I'll keep it like that, at least in this parts where the light must be, well,
like this (it's almost night and the only light source is the big stone, so...)

good! yeah, changing styles at opportune times will make it a less stressful transition for the reader too c:
