The problem isn't Sub-Zero being a whipping boy, he's pretty much always been that. Β The problem is characters are being oversimplified and turned two-dimensional when in the past they were more complex in their actions and characterization.

I do not have high hopes for the story in this game. Β I have very very low hopes. Β And seriously, Johnny Cage and Sony? Β He's a goofy douchbag and she's serious and professional. Β How did they end up together, and why?

I hope the game has a good reason behind Sonya and Johnny's engagement. What I'm REALLY concerned about is that they might not bring back the new characters from Deadly Alliance, Deception, and Armageddon. It seems they want to put their attention on the new characters, which I hope is not the case, and that we do get to see the characters from the 3D MK games. That's what I'm hoping for the most.
