It's especially baffling when you consider Ermac was there floating through the sky. No one glanced up at Ermac. Ermac decided no one really needed to know that the sky is red. Nope. Everyone's got their panties in too much of a twist about D'vorah to notice these little details.

Well that's just a title. He's not really a god per say, but his Osh-Tekk heritage in the comics reveal that he relies on sunlight to decimate his enemies and is weaker when the sun is covered by clouds or if he's in a dark place with no sunlight coming through like a cave.
