next: [link]This is the opening page for The Blackblood Alliance issue #2. It will make more sense in context with the following pages, but it's pretty to look at soooo, thought I'd put it up anyway.
I'd like to dedicate this first page to my best friend and business partner Erin .
I met her on DA, where she drew some fanart for the BBA and I saw how amazing the piece's BG was. At once I got in contact with her and asked if she'd help me out with the comic and she was very excited to do so.
Its probably the best thing I could have done for the BBA. Not only did she motivate me to work faster and take the comic seriously, but she's influenced my art immensely. I dont just slap things down anymore and say "thats good enough," because whenever I did that, she'd see and go "no it isnt." Her critique has made me be dilligent with every frame. I slow down now and pay attention to detail. I think about what goes onto the pages (drawing AND story) before I make them.
Her work on the comic is literally half of what makes it good. The backgrounds arent backgrounds, they are characters in themselves. They have life, and an aura and resonates through each page. And backgrounds are far from the only things she has contributed to the comic. Her compositional skills, knowledge of lighting and sense of color, her feel for character development and good-sounding dialogue have all helped improve the comic. And me.
I appreciate this fact so much that i can honestly say that without her I would not be happy with the comic, and before I had her working with me, I wasnt. I probably would have quit by now, but she kept me going on it and now Im more determined than ever to continue working on issues.
So cheers Erin, congrats on the success of Issue 1 and here's to the start of an even better issue. One that we've learned from all the mistakes me made in issue 1 and are definitely going to improve on this time around. I look forward to working with you on this issue every issue to come. Thank you for everything
P.s. The moth's name is Frank. Er...was. Was Frank.

Hey, good to see you're rolling on into issue two! Looking forward to see where it takes us.
Oh, and the backgrounds ARE phenomenal but so are the foregrounds (like that moth looks fantastic), so congrats to both of you. Amazing how a project like this can improve your skills just by giving you a reason to keep putting out your best work.

This page is totally rich in backgrounds but also by the influence by Frank and Blood(?), that kinda sharpen all the images by their style of being. I'm very exited of how it will go on : D

I love it! I'm so glad you put it up! I've already bought the first issue, and the Swiftkill figure, I hope to get everything someday. Keep up the good work, and I think it is very nice of you to dedicate it to ESDA, my little brother dedicated a book he made about wolves to me, and it feels really good when people do that. Once again, keep up the good work, and I love Frank's glow that you gave him, it gives a very nice touch.

That plant there is Nightblooming Cereus, also known as Dutchman's Pipe. It's a species of cactus found in the southwestern US. We do considerable research on new environments and species to get things accurate.

erin does alot of the research and thinking when it comes to environment. I study animals - so for example I had to look up a bunch of different species of moth and mash the features together to invent this species seen on this page. (Hence why we call him Frank, its short for Frankenmoth 
So she studies flora, I study fauna!
