So soft...so elegant; I adore it. ^__^ She looks so sweet; the background and Kanji were both awesome touches, especially with the autumn leaves. I wouldn't mind a conversation with such a lass, given half the chance.

I really like those types of dresses, so that makes me like this automatically. *nods* Her expression is very soothing, which is also a nice touch. I like the background also, and her hair. It looks very soft and very shiny. ^-^ My only critique would be her hand it looks a little too clenched for how relaxed she seems. But sometimes fists are the easiest thing to do when you've worked on the rest of it. =3

Oh, and the fact the .psd looked better is because this pic here is a jpg, which uses compression techniques to make the file size smaller... And I think you've put that compression jus' a bit too high; you can set the level of compression whenever you're saving a picture as .jpg in photoshop. Just try it, File>Save as ; you type a name hit the save-button blablabla...; that's when the box called JPEG options appears
