Description
This is a picture for =Songficcer , 1st place winner of my contest.
The request was a water/ice experiment, so this is what I came up with. songficcer came up with the power though. 
I tried a sort of realism shading, with reflections and all to boot! I kinda like it.

Absolutely beautiful!!
The streaks of light, the bubble effects, and that swirl of blue shadows in the back. Seems like what you'd definitely see underwater. And that's just the background!
Now slippy himself, his design and name seems like something you'd find straight out of the series! (And I DO mean that as a huge compliment!! Just saying, because I know alot of people who are growing out of liking the cartoon.) The anatomy of the little guy is very on target of the L&S style. The soft body shape makes me just wanna hug him! I also love the fins, the fin-like ears, the illuminating antenna, the subtle little scaley skin details, and... those EYES! Those gorgeous, shining, black eyes!!
But if you want critigue to improve... well, like I said, the blue shine on the eyes are beautiful, but maybe you should add a little more of a "blur" effect around the circular white shine on them. If you get what I'm talking about. OH wait! Nevermind, I think I see that you already did something like that.

I think you succeeded in making the shading look real ^^ With no solid shading lines visible where one colour changes is barely audible, plus, because s/he is underwater, and the light is all higgeldy-piggledy you haven't restricted your shading to one area. Great work on that Kay! As for the experiment themselves, the pose looks good, as if it's only putting a bit of it's effort into swimming. It looks very agile when it wants to be

wow...I'm not going to say "cute" (everybody does but that doesn't mean that it isn't....) but the shading is very good ^^ Love the icy water, it shows. And the bubbles. And the water reflection thingies. Wish there were bubble brushes
