Commission for =crazyyellowfox ! I tried using really bright colours this time rather then dulling the colours out. I like the effect, it's so happy!
simple background seems to bring out the character better, but I like the style of shading, almost Flash-like. I also tried a quick outlining technique, and I really like it. It's much more loose and flowy. geez, the thumbnail looks better then the full. xD;; anyways, i had a lot of fun doing this. Enjoy!!PS. let me know if you prefer coloured line art or just black. and if you like blurred or non-blurred line art (I didn't use the blur effect here).

No tutorial. I just duplicate the line art and blur it.

And I think whatever line art you use depends on the picture and how you want it to turn out, so I don't mind whatever you choose - it all looks good in the end

Wow you did an amazing job on this. The water is so nicely done and the colored shading is usually hard to do but you pulled it off really well. Now I want ot go to that beach. D=

Ooh, that's really cool! The water, even though you can tell that it's cartoonized, is one of the greatest I've seen anyone do. The character is really cute. I love his pinapple shirt. =3

1. The shading DOES look flash-like (I like it!) and does bring the character out more
and 2. The lineart looks great for being quick!

And for your P.S., I think the color of the lineart depends on the picture's colors. For example, this bright picture looks REALLY good with the black lineart. Also, I don't think the blurring of the lineart makes much of a difference, but that might just be me

I don't like blurred line art... I use the pen tool in photoshop to do lineart, so it never looks too sharp or aliased, but for those who don't use this awesomely awesome tool I'd recommend making your pic really big so that resizing it makes the lineart appear smooth. blurring is meh.
The background looks so very cool. I love those waves. And... I want that drink. Looks gooood.

A slight more blur to the lines, but not too much more (though really, I'd say just switch off using this style of lines and the other one, since they both work great). I love this picture! ^_^ Has a nice, relaxing mood to it... Now let's see if I can get it right this time. Looks like a...male?
