Spitfire and Rainbow Dash both on the edge of promotion, discuss there careers as Wonder Bolts vs there friendship outside of work As Dash is about to become Captain on the Same day Spitfire will become Major. There will be a transfer of power as one moves on and the other takes over. For now they are equals but soon she'll be her superior again. In that brief moment when both are captains they relax and can be them selves around each other.

Then Spitfire brings up Rainbow's job as part of the Royal Counsel she is one of five who share 2nd rank under Twilight Sparke the ruler of all Equestria meaning she is one move away from being ruler of the whole world which means Rainbow on some manners out Ranks Spitfire even if she were to go all the way to General, Rainbow would still out rank her.

They work it out and decide that High Rank will apply to one or the other based on situation and they will regardless of title respect each others opinions, can question each others orders, will have to get to know each other well enough to defy orders if the other is not in there right mind and that they can refer to each other by 1st name if they feel comfortable doing so.

But over all they are friends. What used to be the teacher who saw poetical in a newbie and the student who looked up to an idol are now equals, best friends and more

they have grown up and grown on each other.

They can still pull rank and give each other orders but they'll prefer not to.
