I put this in manga/anime because of the style, but KND (Kids Next Door) is a cartoon hehehe
It's #3 & #4 my fave charas from the series hahaha

There's something I simply need to know: What do people see in this pairing?

There are a lot of uhm, hints about them, how Kuki (#3 ) was always goofing around Wally (#4 ) and Wally is kind of a mad tsundere or something. Idk, it's my childhood pair, I guess.

But do they complete each other emotionally?
Really, I always found these two to be TOO opposite. My philosophy is that lovers should at least have plenty in common albeit opposite approaches to life. If they have too much in common, yes, they'll get bored of each other and fight more often. Too opposite? Same results. I also always felt many of those hints were too forced, like #4 was obligated to become #3 's lover out of pressure from everyone else (viewers included). Did it start from that hug she gave him at the end of Operation: OFFICE? Sorry, but one hug does not a couple make. Given #3 's disposition, I believe she would've done the same had it been one of the others. Now, while some later hints understandably did come close, they still didn't have any chemistry. Although I can believe that these two could give it a try early on, I don't believe it'd last.
Anyway, them's my two cents.

Well, back then I didn't really care whether ships are valid or invalid, since I was a youngster who didn't really care about ships and all that. I only shipped straight, too, back then. I was totally oblivious, so I'm sorry.
But not all opposite relationships flank out, to be honest. Me and my boyfriend had totally the opposite of everything and we're already at 5-6 years or so, and we don't have an anniversary date. Even a thin line of similarity in interests or goals can make a possibility.
I think you're saying that "canon hint" is different from "canon", just like all of those anti-shippers in Tumblr that I've read. Well, everyone's got an opinion, I guess. Although I know that labeling "canon hints" as "canon" is totally wrong, I don't really mind. Besides, I'm not very much into shipping - I just go with the flow of my friends. I have no personality. X)
