You know what she needs? A bigger trenchcoat. Because I am not feeling the menace here. Might be a different story if her book was on my crotch, but you know what they say: An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I really haven't read much of Renee as the Question and foremost I'm a Charles Victor Szasz/Victor Sage fan. Also Question/Huntress shipper since JLU.
Back to the art, it looks amazing and Helga Sinclair is one tough broad too. I mean she gets knocked out of a hot air balloon by the leading jerk of the film Rourke.
"Nothing personal." - Helga quoting Rourke before shooting the balloon.

I was too- a fan a Vic first I mean but after 52 I really got into Renee. I recomend the Crime Bible story arch for some GOOD Renee as the Question just I wish the series was longer it feels too edited and that they had stuck with the first and third artist over the 5 different ones. >.<
Ooooh I love Helena/Vic I kinda wish that would have shown up in the books but nope DEAD. Also gotta love Vic because well, Boston is Hub City XD

I have read Batwoman: Elegy. I have been a fan of Rucka since NML and Huntress: Cry For Blood.
The closest thing to a Vic/Helena relationship that I saw was in Cry For Blood though they ended up going separate ways because of how Vic reacted to what Helena did towards the end of the arc.
I'll try to find Crime Bible. I have liked Renee since her inception as a recurring character back in BtAS. She saved Batman on the wharf in P.O.V.
Didn't know Boston was the real world analog to Hub City. I have been to Boston many times.

...e-mail me. Juli@Wickedlittlestudio.com I'll send you the link to DL the crime bible (bwahahahahaha) most of the DC cities have a real world analog you just need to find them.
Yup. Boston is Hub City (hence we're called "The Hub" and the resturaunt at the top of the Prudential is "Top of the Hub" etc. etc) I live in MA and spend as much time in Boston as I can so I laugh. There are two heros for Boston, The Atom and The Question. WOOO!

Ray Palmer, before I knew the real name of the Atom, was mentioned by Vandal Savage in JL: Hereafter Part II.
I think I live closer to where you would find Gotham City if its NYC. I don't live in NYC, but I have gone there frequently. I live in New Jersey.

Nope. But you do live close to Bludhaven. Bludhaven is Trenton (or Baltimore jury is out). Some people assume Gotham is NYC and years ago I would have agreed but if you look at the architecture in Batman and I mean from like 1970 on it's CLEARLY Chicago it's why Nolan used it. Just that gothic deco work, not to mention all the waterfront and river ways but NO ocean. NYC leads to the Ocean. (after a ton of islands) and there are no islands in Gotham. XD
Metropolis I've always said is DC.

Knight-Watcher In reply to Kazekuro [2011-06-02 17:39:12 +0000 UTC]
Another thing I didn't know... Trenton - Bludhaven interesting.
Yes well I'm starting to think Chicago is a more likely candidate for Gotham City especially since the Nolanverse films. They also used several landmark locations from Chicago in The Dark Knight.
Some incarnations of Batman have Arkham as Arkham Island - such as Batman: Arkham Asylum - VG. Now there's a game for anyone who knows a lot about Batman lore.
Metropolis - well I have been to DC and it certainly seems like it could be.

I agree, like I said I love Vic he's just... he's VIC SAGE! I mean you can't replace that. Deep down in my brain cavity of fangirldom I'd love to see him come back someway or maybe I just really liked the Huntress/Question dynamic from JLU waaaaaaaaay too much XD

Thank you very much Thunder. It just struck me as a good match- I tweeted to everyone I know "HEEEELP! I NEED GOOD RENEE AS Q QUOTES!" and no one could send me a list. So I was like "meh might as well make it more like slogan." XD

I usually prefer Vic Sage over Renee Montoya. Not that I don't like her, she's awesome! But I like Sage a little better, but you did an awesome job with this pic!

Kazekuro In reply to TheProfBurg [2011-05-17 23:04:27 +0000 UTC]
LOL Well yeah I mean Vic Sage vs. Renee is like... Barbara vs. Stephanie. Is Stephanie a BAD batgirl? Not really but Barbara was who I fell in love with first. XD I adore Vic but I do like Renee just in general.... kinda wish we still HAD Vic but that's why he's smoking in the drawing of him I did.

That vest actually does pull her design together a lot. She always tends to look more...awkward than Vic in the costume for reasons I could never put my finger on.

Kazekuro In reply to literacysuks1 [2011-05-14 01:13:06 +0000 UTC]
As a busty woman who wears dude's clothing just because it's more comfortable- you just need to know what to wear and how. So when they put Renee in just the white men's shirt and tie but still tried to make her look like a girl and not a drag king you need to put into mind what a woman would wear.
(Again, when you wear a shoulder holster AND a bra really just a man's white dress shirt doesn't cover it!) XD
Thank you for the comment I really do appreciate it when fans go "hey not bad" with costume ideas. Because let's face it DC has had some "whaaaaa?" costumes (Starfire should have CamToe 100% of the time)
