I love Earthbound, but Pu (Poo? Puu?)'s design always bothered me, because it looked so...generic karate guy with a tiny touch of kung-fu guy tossed in as well. Which doesn't fit the Dalaam levels at all -- they look much more Indian/Tibetian than Chinese, IMHO.

Also his sprite and the official art didn't really make him much of a looker, whearas it is canonical fact that the ladies of Dalaam be all-up-ons Prince Pu. He's gotta be both nice *and* a total looker.

The white I felt was important, since the mu (moo?) training sequence shows that Pu is expected to sacrifice everything to succeed in his mission, and he's *capable* of it, so I imagine he must have been raised as a bit of a sacrificial lamb - groomed for the fate of dying to protect the Earth.

White is a color of death in several asian cultures, so I think it fits that the monks dressed him in all white, to denote his "different" status, as someone raised to die.

Yes, Pu is my favorite.
