Marcus Leland Jackson is a police detective in Springfield, Illinois. He has been a police officer for almost twenty years, and has been partners with Adam Reagan for three. The two have been friends for longer than that, having met through their sons' friendship. While Adam is cool and calm, Marcus has a hot temper, often defaulting to bad cop when it comes time to interrogate a suspect. Marcus is a third-generation police officer, following in the footsteps of his father, a State Police detective, and his grandfather, a United States Marshall.
