I love bob dylan too. You do very good portraits! I might reconmend a little more blending. That is one of the great things about charcoal - that you can blend it to get that beautiful smooth flawless finish. Try blending more and erasing last to add in the highlights in stead of just leaving the white spaces blank from the start. Just a little suggestion...take it or leave it. Keep up the good work!

yes, good art doesn't necessarily mean realistic art. A trademark style can be the most important aspect of an artist's work. However, I don't think you've discovered your personal sense of style yet. From your art...as that is all I am basing any of this on...I get the feeling your work is unfinished as may be your idea of where you actually want to take it. I don't think you know what direction you want to go. It obviously isn't a matter of ability. I think you could sketch picture perfect portraits if you wanted to, but i dont think you want to and I can appreciate that. So if that is the case, maybe then don't be afraid to experiment. Try taking your art to the next level some how. However feel right to you. That is my humble opinion. Right now you seem to be at a bland cross roads. Don't be afraid to choose a direction. I'm sure whatever you do will turn out great. you're very talented.

I should've been growing up during the sixties.
I must say it's my favourite decade.
But as usual, the name was taken.
And then I thought that 1869 was probably a rather charming year, also.

heh...interesting..the 60's was the decade of a lifetime..for both centuries i suppose..heh..anyways..As goofy as it is ...heh..KBK was a nickname i went by on here..it stands for Kardboard Killer..heh...ofcourse its spelled wrong..but it formed itself into the initials "KBK"..silly..yeah. But it apears that there has been sillier..heh..its great talking with ya..it is now i notice i enjoy awaiting your response..heh..
