Description
Like a lot of people, I've had a bit of a rough time in life. Even though things have gotten better, I still get overwhelmed by the details, and wind up criticizing myself until I'm completely raw.I have learned that sometimes, you have to step back and look at where you're coming from. Sometimes, you have to trace your footsteps to see where you're going. And sometimes you will be surprised that in the darkest of nights, when you think you've lost your way, you're actually on the path to love.
This piece is dedicated to anyone struggling with a mental illness, and to their friends and family also touched by it.
Technical: Photoshop CS5. All photographs and textures by me.

I like this a lot, and personally I feel like ignoring the past only makes things worse, and sometimes it does take looking back before you can move forward. Great concept!

Thank you, it means a lot! I've had so many people in my life tell me to never look back, to just move on with my life, to get over it. I'm sure everyone's told that at some point. But it never worked for me, and it's only when I look back and examine where I've been, discover why I react how I do, why I think and feel like I do...that I've been able to heal at all. So, I agree with you fully! <3
