Description

Did a redesign for an old character of mine that some older watchers may remember, Lucious! He’s now a spider boi who lives in the tropics. The main idea I have with him is that he’s not used to having a whole lot of visitors, so when he does, he wants them to stay. He hangs out in the trees but mainly lives in cave systems that have gems/crystals people search for, so he sometimes snags his “victims” that way. He also has traps set up outside and in the area. If he comes across a particularly caring person, he may pose as being small and defenseless so they’ll take him with them or help him, and he’ll either catch them off guard and grow bigger later, or he’ll ride it out and remain small just for the attention and company. He’s not very picky on how he gets someone to be with him, but he does find being bigger makes it easier.

I’m working on things about him, but I managed to get this out for now to give a basic idea. His design may change a bit more in the future but probably not too much (I say that now but who knows lol).

I wanted to keep some elements from his older design, but also wanted to make it a little more realistic, so I looked up some red and green spiders. I came across pictures of what a tropical orb weaver spider looks like when in adolescence, and I liked the color scheme, so I used that as a base.

So his spider half would be related to the tropical orb weaver, but not quite. I decided to give three legs on each side and have the last two be more in front. They act as extra limbs to grab and take a hold of stuff.

The gem on his head is what allows him to change size.

As spooky as he can come off, he doesn’t eat humans or humanoid-like beings. He’s an omnivore so animals and fruit are what he eats. He may even shrink down so he can hunt insects.

I’m still trying to work on how I’d like my refs to be… it’s hard to find a format I like, but I hope this is understandable enough!
