Mephisto's voice was almost too quiet for you to hear. With the pounding of your own heart deafening you. You stared into his green eyes with a nervous desire flooding your own. Slowly, you leaned towards him. The space between your lips steadily shrank. Just as you were about to close the space between you and the older demon, your ears picked up a subtle sound in the wind. The sound of someone biting a nail. This sound pulled your head to face it. You scanned the forest area where it was coming from before standing.
"(F/n)?" Mephisto's concerned voice barely hit your ears. Someone was watching you, and you weren't about to let them get away with it. You grabbed your guitar from behind a boulder, and Mephisto watched as its acoustic appearance morphed into a black, axe-shaped
base. The adorable dress you were wearing morphed into a black, skin tight suit with golden designs on it, and your sandals changed to black combat boots.
"Stay here." You spoke numbly as your eyes began to glow. Your tail was wrapped tightly around your waist, but your golden horns became very prominent. Before Mephisto could speak, you took off into the forest. Quickly finding the source of the noise, you stopped and stared up into a tree.
"Who are you?" Your tone was icy and harsh. The man jumped down, his green eyes meeting yours when he stood.
"So you're the one big brother is making such a fuss over..." His eyes sparkled with mischief. Your eyes held their icy stare.
"You didn't answer my question." The demon chuckled and stuck a lollipop in his mouth. You could feel your impatience and anger rising with every second.
"Amaimon." His monotone response almost slipped by. You looked at his now bored eyes. "You know, I didn't follow you out here to play twenty questions... I came out here because I'm bored, and I want to see if you can amuse me." His cynical, mocking tone only made you angrier. On instinct, you swung your base at him. Amaimon quickly jumped out of the way, landing very close to you.
"Finally!" His voice was almost joyous at the fact that you were going to fight him. You swung again, causing him to dodge directly next to you. He punched your arm, sending you flying through one tree and slamming into another. The pained, animalistic scream that left your throat was heard for miles, and of course, it was heard by Mephisto. His eyes widened as he heard the crashing of trees followed by your scream. The surprise in his emerald eyes quickly turned into pure hatred and rage. As fast as his demonic speed would allow him, he ran off in the direction of the scream.
You managed to get up, holding your shoulder. The green demon had a look that could only be impressed plastered on his face.
"Wow. Most demons never get up from a hit like that." His tone was still mocking, causing your anger to take control. You strummed down on your guitar causing gold ropes to fly out and wrap tightly around Amaimon.
"Wh-What the--" His words were cut off as you tugged the guitar, causing the ropes as well as Amaimon to come flying towards you at a superhuman speed. You raised your guitar, ready to swing. Mephisto finally found you, just in time to watch your guitar smash into Amaimon's face.He watched with wide eyes as his brother flew a good forty feet before smashing into the ground. No one had ever been able to land such a powerful hit on his brother.
You stormed over to the green-haired demon who was now sprawled out on the ground. Picking him up by the collar of his shirt you glared at him with icy eyes.
"You... How dare you ruin the one time I get to be alone with him... How dare you!" Pure fury and rage caused you to throw him into a tree. He landed with a thud. Slowly, the anger left your body and was replaced with sadness. You walked off into the trees, just wanting to be alone.
"(F/n)!" Sato jumped out at you out of nowhere. You barely managed to catch him, but as soon as you did, you saw how worried he was. The two of you found a clearing, and Sato grew to his larger form so you could lay on him. As soon as you were comfortable, tears filled your eyes. You started crying as you told Sato what had happened.
Mephisto immediately followed you, but kept a short distance back. He furthered that distance once your familiar had appeared. When you reached the clearing, he watched from the trees as you started to cry. He felt his heart breaking from seeing you in such a state. After what you said to his brother earlier, he felt guilty for not taking time out to be with you. Now, seeing you in such a state of despair, simply because one night was compromised, broke his heart. His ears picked up what you were saying as you spoke to Sato through labored breaths and broken sobs.
"I-I just wanted... o-one night with him... j-just one and it was too much to ask for!" Your sobs took over for a second. "Wh-Why? Why did it h-have to happen like this? I-It was supposed to be s-so perfect..." Your words were effectively cut off by your cries at this point. Sato nudged you onto his back and carried you back in the direction of the pink mansion. Once you got there, you shakily went to your room, wanting to forget the day had ever even happened. You grabbed a nightgown out of the wardrobe and slipped it on. sitting on your bed, you let Sato out the window so he could hunt some mice. You sniffled and stared out the window at the fading, red glow of the sunset.
Mephisto followed you back and was currently outside your room. He knocked softly waiting for a response. Thinking it was one of your maids, you answered in a sad, quiet tone. A soft "Come in." reached Mephisto's ears as he opened the door. Quietly shutting it behind him, he walked over to your side and sat down. Finally putting in an effort to see who had come into your room, your eyes widened in shock as they met sad, green eyes.
