At about 5 years of age Mrithas was captured from the wild and sold to a local pet store where she was then later purchased by a wealthy, middle-aged woman.
Unfortunately, while cute as babies - these dragons grow to massive sizes and are intelligent enough to outwit their owners.
In Mrithas' case - after several years of daily grooming, baths, and ribbons she became frustrated with captivity. Especially since she was denied any meat in her diet and wasn't granted the space or exercise she really needed. Once large enough, Mrithas ended up killing (and eating) her poor clueless human.
Escaping at that point was easy for her and she resumed a life in the wild. However, even with years of searching, Mrithas was never able to find her mother or birth clan.
