Description
Slave- the capture, imprisonment, and maintenance of a person for the use of forced non-voluntary labor.
This is 1 of 15 illustrations that uses Post-colonial terminologies to derive an image that conveys the meaning of the words. For more information, please read my journal.
Done mostly in Painter, touched up in Photoshop.

wow..... nicely done, evokes emotions to look at it, you just want to help the girl. and the odd feelings of terror when you wonder what happened to 68 who seems to be nothing but a blood stain now... I would never usually do this but this one has to go in favorites just for how well its done.

Let's look at it this way. Whatever did it was strong enought to rip an iron chain, which I assume would require superhuman strength. It can't have been an employee of the slave trader, since they would probably have a key, so they wouldn't break their own chain, they would just take it off like they did with #67.
In short I assume that she was mauled by a giant spider or something like that.

Everything about this is fantastic, you can see how bad the condition was from the ride to America. However, the slaves were usually black.

Having slaves is more torturing than making them feel free, if you buy one, make it go out. It will thank you forever :3

This is a lot of what I had in mind for a character in my fanfic. Very well done. Excellent portrayal of fear and despair on her.

while waiting to be sold to her new master the girl hears a knock at the door which then is opened,then a strong wind along with the horror filled screams of the slavers fills the room then both are cut off and a deadly silence fills the room she then hears footsteps move toward her and then her blindfold and gag are removed by to her surprise a large dark purple unicorn with a black mane which seams to flow by an unseen force and whose eyes hold an unearthly white glow,then to shock her more the creature smiles showing it's mouth has the same white glow and then it speaks to her!"hello dearie your momma's real worried about you"the poor girls voice trembles with uncertainty"is this a dream?"the being shakes it's head and smiles fondly"no honey it's not,lets get you home"the beast's mane seems to reach towards her and breaks her chains and rope like thread and then places her on the beasts back which is strangely cool but comforting to her bruises"thank you"the girl whispers as she hugs the creatures neck.
