an OC is an abreveation (sorry for the poor spelling xP) for Original Character.

don't feel bad i had no clue what any of this was, like shipping. i joined the shipping wars kinda late ^^'

i watched avatar completely blind and unaware of the side jokes and 'other interpretaions'. why do you think older audiences were able to enjoy it? i'll leave it at that.

and other fanfic terms i was like '@.@ what the heck?' so yeah.

oh just one thing you have to keep in mind when making one. you need to know who to distant your personalitly from the character. make yourself familiar with the term mary sue. it will help. another thing that will help is a test i found on PrincessKitty 1's profile. they're on fanfiction.net
it tests to see how much of a mary sue your OC is. i suggest taking the test once you've formulated the personaltiy, but before you start a fan fic.
