I like it.. but the sight looks lika a light..
And.. with the short barrel on the M4 plus the munitions used, I'd settle for an acog or similar.
Otherwise fubar.. the way it's supposed to be

Hey, I'm doing a High poly model of the M4A1 as well in 3Ds Max '10 and I am having trouble doing the receiver. Any pointers?
But yeah, that M4 is looking kick-ass

Wow. Some amazing detail there. My only nitpick is the pistol grip. It looks as though it has a couple smoothing errors.
Beyond that though, this is great. I can't imagine how much time you must have spent on it.

The most 3d weapons look so ridiculous because often 3d noobs try to model a weapon, but this m4a1 is soo detailed and looks soo good! nice work

Umm... nice, but... what's with the odd angle of the back of the carrying handle? And I'm not sure about the idea of installing weaver rails over more weaver rails... it would be hell to calibrate any extras installed there. I really love the modelling though

I don't know why, but the model without color just seems to apeal to me more. Awesome job man, well done. This model is one of the best I've ever seen, and I play TONS of games. If a game used models that looked exactly like this, it would be GoTM. (Game of the Millenia )

Hey Bro! I used a skylight in the scene. Dont put in any other lights, just the skylight, and go the the enviroments setting and turn on "automatic" for exposer control settings. If you want some good tutorials on vray, check out 3d-palace.com There's some good Vray video tuorials there.

I just yused a good side pic as a background ref. You'll have to eyeball the rest. You'll do fine, just take your time with it and chamfer the edges to get a nice smooth look.

Nice work. You put a lot of detail into that. I think you went a little 'rail' crazy though.

yo dude, i had one of these for almost 3 years, i mean not that crazy but this kind of rifle, and i tell ya, its much smoother, you need to smooth the edges and curves a bit, for example, the handle. but overall a good job, it looks cool, export it to a counter strike model
