A lot better than my first, but then again I did mess around with it a bit afterwards... But it's really nice!

At this point I don't recall specifically what I did.. I'd likely need to use the tutorial again to make another star field. I'm pretty sure I just played with it until I was content with it

mostly use the tutorial as a basis but you ca play with it all you want to get what you want. Takes a lot of time to figure out your own lil twist to it.

haha ya
i also noticed all my stars looked really pixally so i just made stars individually by hand and used the clone tool alot haha

great work! thats the tutorial i based my first starfield on too, though your results are much better. think the next step for you is to make it a little more subtle. If you take a look at the artwork of really good artists (the dA celebrities) you will see that most of them dont have quite as many stars, nor are most of them as bright. It just adds to the realism of the image. Of course, it really depend on the style you are going for. Personally, I now prefer making the starfield by hand, rather than with the noise filter. This way I have more control over the spacing and brightness of the stars. Thats something you could experiment with...

Actually not too many filters.. just alot of playing with layer modes and the like.

Gassian blur and noise being the two filters mostly used.
