Description
Consistency between uploads? NOT ON MY WATCH!Here's a little map that had been collecting dust in my oddly-named folders for eons. After a bout of inspiration (thanks to this and this ) I slapped some fancy coats of arms on and called it a day...
After making one Kiwi-induced border adjustment that in my opinion made the map 5% uglier.
That'll be all. Thanks to and for the setting, and to and for inspiration.

Had a thought about this while making some new borders for that Hearts of Iron IV map...considering that this incarnation of the Netherlands comes from a world where Belgium didn't achieve independence, would the Netherlands here have control over Eupen-Malmedy?

Based on geography, it would be Lorraine controlling them, if anything

Yeah, but in terms of population, wouldn't they have annexed it to the Dutch/German part of the Netherlands when Ludovic broke free with Wallonia?

Hah, I looked at my map again. NL does control Eupen-Malmedy! It's the southernmost panhandle of the Limburg province.

Hmm, I don't think so...

...Aachen's north/northeast of both Eupen and Malmedy on this map, yet on your map there's nothing due south of Aken? I think that's the original border there...

really nice map and provincial coats-of-arms, think I recognise a few since I've got some old Dutch Republic coins with the provincial symbols on the back ~ rijksdaalders and a few big silver coins from Utrecht with their motto on the back in Latin

Do the new islands at the coast have any purpose? Airport somewhere?

They were projects to create jobs during a recession. There is an airport on the northernmost island, but they took ages to pay back their costs, which the monarch (it's an absolute monarchy in this scenario) paid for from his own treasury.
