Description
Category: Birds in NatureI haven't yet managed to get a good shot of the Red-Necked Grebe (Podiceps grisegena), but I like how nicely this one reflected on the water surface.
Update: since a few people have asked, I would like to affirm that the reflection of the bird is real, but I did however blur the water surface slightly to improve the effect.

I love this. I love how the trail behind the grebe is blue instead of just a murk. The green is beautiful, and the reflections all around are fantastic. Awesome work

This is wonderful....the light is fantastic.....and the reflections in the water are superb.....I personally don't think you need to get any closer.

HUMMMMM....have had a look at the picture by Thrumyeye, its a great shot, but personally I would have like to see all of the adult Grebe, cutting the bird in half has turned it more into a record shot rather than telling the whole story, you don,t know anything about the environment, or about the bird and rest of it's family. A personal thing, I guess.... not wanting to detract from what is a great picture.

The reflection of the bird is real, but I blurred the background (the water surface) slightly to enhance the effect.

Oh, I so know the struggle of trying to get them close enough... this is a marvellous capture!

They sem to be spending a lot of time diving. And suddenly they pop up to the surface, and you have to be very quick to capture them. Glad you like it

And they are very shy too! - they use to keep a 'safe' distance
