Thank you. They have now built a huge aviary where large birds like pelicans and flamingos can fly freely around

Wonderful shot. I love the position of the eye and framing of the wings. Hope to see some photos from the new aviary before long!

Thanks very much, Debbie. Luckily the birds have now been moved to a huge, new aviary, big enough to allow pelicans, flamingos and other large birds to fly around freely. I hope to go and visit later this month

Great shot, though I feel sorry for the poor bird....
How do you put the small images of other deviations in your comments?

Thanks, Barbara. Yes, it's sad they have to clip their wings like that, but they have now been moved to a new aviary, big enough to allow pelicans, flamingos and other large birds to fly around freely. That's a great improvement, I think
Just copy the thumbnail code to the right, and paste it into your comment box. It looks like this without the spaces : thumb282547749 :

OK I figured out why it didn't work. It only puts a thumbnail from the submittal page, it won't work in a regular comment.... Thanks for your help!

That is an impressive shot, Keld. Perfectly sharp, well lit and beautifully set apart from the background.
Why are the bird's wings clipped?

KeldBach In reply to alban-expressed [2012-10-06 08:28:57 +0000 UTC]
Thanks very much, Alban. The wings are clipped to prevent it from flying away, but earlier this year the zoo has built a huge aviary that allows pelicans, flamingos and other large birds to fly around freely. I hope to visit the place later this month
