Just finished reading Wings of Fire (books 1 - 10), and I wanted to draw some human (sort of?) portrayals of the characters! My fav is Moonwatcher, so I've drawn some sketches of her first.

Some notes:
- I chose to keep the wings because flying is important to the story. I left the tail out because designing clothing for both tails and wings is difficult.
- I know Moonwatcher has dark greens and purples, but I couldn't make it look very good on a flat sketch.
- Other Nightwings typically have long hair, sometimes with braid or beads, but Moonwatcher doesn't. She grew up in the Rain forest away from her tribe, so she's a little different. She hasn't quite gotten the hang of her own tribes fashion or behaviours. Her hair is short and fluffy like a hooligan.
- She's a little muscular from swinging around tree trunks rather than living at the volcano.
- I decided than the younger characters will have shorter horns, and given Moonwatcher is about 13-14 in this picture, her horns are still bebe horns.

I'm planning on drawing all the other characters, but maybe not into so many poses/details because this took an incredibly long time because I'm slow and a perfectionist. Also sorry about the format, it was mostly meant to be for Instagram.

Also the quotes are NOT mine, they are from the Wings of Fire book series from Tui T. Sutherland.
