1st contest entry for 'S contest
Basically, the thing we have to do there is draw a Pokémon in a more realistic way 8DSo Why Bastiodon? Well because 1: I nevr, ever drew triceratops before, so it was good practice, 2: Bastiodon is one of the few 4th gen Pokémon I like, and 3: because I want to
I'm pretty sure I won't get many good point on here since it really isn't that hard to make Bastiodon realistic compared to other pokes like Slowpoke or Gengar, but hey, it was good fun X3
There's so many thing that's unBastiodony on that pic XD most of them are there because real triceratops had them, such as the long legs and the nose horn XD But I think I did a good job overall 8D All the texture on it was sofun to do, the little lines on ther horns, the wrinkles... Actually, the only thing I didnt do myself was the scales XD that was a filter. Other than that, I got a bunch of tips from on the anatomy and stuff, and umm.. Well I made everything else 8D

The scales were done using some filter in Photoshop (forgot which one XD). And the colors are Bastiodon's DP sprite colors I think. XD I used the eyedropper tool! o0o
I know, backgrounds are hard. D8 Lately I've been practicing doing scenery and all though so I think I'm getting better. This background here is just the same image but enlarged and in sepia tones. XD

Bastiodon is pretty cool, but I like Tricera from Fossil Fighters more.

Ooooh, I didn't know about that game before, but I just looked it up and, even though I still like my lovely Bastiodon better, I might give the game a try some time soon!

xd well in the past i used to use alot of filters on me things .w. so I knew that I could find a scale one soewhere .w. n the ref i used had very obvious scaleness so it wasnt ard to think about XD

hehe the scales are indeed lovarly as well as the wrinkles c: especilally with the noes...ish groovay
the under shaidng on hi tummy is also ncie and fits into crease city for this....wrinkly guy
the horns are quite nice though their edges seem abit rugedy and not very smoothe like his...noes one and the one form his upper eye furthest from us.
anatomy wise i'm not a dino freak so i'm quessing you did you research XD i did'nt think their fornt legs bent that way
you don't like many 4th gen ones? for shame miss kelly they have some very cool designs

yeah I didnt want to smudge the outer edges to much because since it was supposed to be more realistical, I didn't want to make it blurry like I often do XD
XD yeah I did my reasearch n had some help from X3 the legs are very weird indeed XD
the 4th generation was actually VERY lame. If we remove aall the "musts" like the starters, legendaries, early game rodent, bugs n birds, evos n prevos of old pokes, the fossils, the and sem-legendary dragons, we end up with very few pokes XD some of them ARE good indeed (i like vespiqueen and torterra XD), but most of them really arent original, COOL, maybe, but not original. lucario is the the best example; hes just your average furry with paw pads XD thats very lame yet its like the most popular pokemon ever, shame

well i'm gonna disagree cause theirs alot of designs i very much like, and to me most the 1st gen ones don't really look exciting, i love charmander but it's just an orange dino XD gastlys a ball with gas and geoduses floating rock man x: though my fave generation ahs to eb 3...mudkip and banette fuck yeah
