I had this vision of this stoic figure standing in a field that swayed back and forth, gracefully with the breeze in a state of tranquility. It was an image that fleshed out into this piece so fluidly, and I thought it would be perfect to experiment a little with double-exposure. It's what spurred me to try negative watercolouring, a technique that I've seen here and there, but never really bothered to try out as it seemed quite time consuming. Aaaand boy, was it worth it.
Surprisingly, it was actually quite therapeutic and relaxing to do negative watercolouring, and the outcome effect paid off! Of course, it wouldn't be complete with blush metallic

I leave them unpainted!! And I use tissue to avoid my hand smudging paint

When I saw this... I cried. It reminds me so much of my amazing friend Britney... Just your art alone does. But, this... This is HER to me... The sad mourning face is what slapped me.
See, she passed away in 2013. She was a sweet and wonderful girl. Always caring for others and putting them first. Loved to sketch and cosplay. Always embarrassed about her work.... I miss her everyday.
Despite how I feel, this is a lovely piece of work. Thank you for uploading this.

Oh wow. I'm so sorry... I'm so sorry that I triggered memories of Britney, I really am. I hope I have't upset you, I really do believe that she was a lovely and sweet girl.
I'm not good at dealing with loss, I've dealt with one before and that broke me down. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose a friend that close.

Oh no no no, you didnt upset me. You do not have to worry about that. It made me also remember all of our close moments. The piggy back rides I would give her to class.... SInce she was never too physical... Not a lot of strength. All the times of her coming over. Sitting and watching her sketch. Poetry. All of the above. Everything you do with a close friend. I adored her and I miss her so much.
It did also help me. The great memories came with great thoughts. Yes, it was slightly saddening at first when thinking of her. It got all better. Do not worry and do not apologize. This work of yours... Is on my top favorite list.
