So I've come to realise I draw hair FAR too much, and I want to really explore my style and develop it, and experiment with new ideas and things! I've been in love with drawing night skies ever since my last piece, and I really wanted to play with a focus on landscapes and the human form. Though this is more fantasy/waterscapes than landscapes, it's one of a bunch of ideas I have in mind and will follow up on soon! Really happy with how it turned out though hooray!

I'm not sure where my 'style' derives from though, it's weird and I've never really liked it til recently, slowly coming to terms with it! I don't try to limit myself to women with hair, rather, it's just one of the biggest ideas and concepts that I like to portray. Rather, the hair is moreso 'symbollic' for the mind, which is hard to kinda portray when male hair is usually short. See, the mind really has no physical form, so that's why I'm so drawn to hair I suppose!

I do agree with frostyshadow's critique:
it is cut in half quite equally, in term of shapes, color and values. The moon is but a bit more emphasized as the main object. I think woman is the second emphasis, and if that is correct the saturation of the water line takes part of the spot light away from her. The moon drip is an interesting way to connect the 2 halves, but, this might just be my opinion, it doesn't seem to belong with the rest of the pic: it is very sharp and constant (especially the thickest line)- different from the blended theme and even the moon has blurred edge, it doesn't have the same movement as the rest of the lines and it also doesn't have the balance the entire piece have.
On the other hand, it's still has beautiful colors, details and movement as usual!! Keep up the good work !

The moon was actually intended to be the main focus or conveying message of the piece, quite oddly. It's about the connection of the world in relation to the Moon, as I was going to do a few pieces centered around this idea of the Moon and the landscapes! The woman is meant to be the human embodiment of the earth, or sea in this situation, whilst in the skies and space, she remains the heavenly body that she is! That was the idea at least.
But I definitely agree with the complete separation and distinction between the two halves, which do actualy appear to contrasting and opposingly different, now that I look back! And the large, thick wave was intended to kind of create a more '3d water effect' that blurs in the foreground, but that failed miserably. Haha. So I definitely agree with you on that!

Yeah.. I think it's just the tendency to draw flowy things and lines. I like rhyhm and line alot! But I also love drawing faces, bodies and females, so it tends to translate as an obsession with hair
