- Padraic is just a happy-go-lucky mechanic who likes to make everyone around him feel as if they're having a blast. He's a rather cheerful guy who is dedicated to figuring out the ins-and-outs of the ever expanding technological world he lives in. He eats, sleeps, and breathes engineering and wants to make a difference, hoping that his tools and gadgets can ensure the safety of his comrades. He's dedicated to his work and will do anything for progress. Paddy never really wanted the life of a soldier, but things couldn't be helped. He cares about the ones around him and has a hard time accepting the severity of certain outcomes. In order to keep sane, he simply enjoys life to the fullest and does whatever it takes.

- Padraic's mother was an officer for the Xydian military and appeared to not stand out amongst her comrades, though she did win over the heart of Padraic's father. Just shortly after Padraic was born, his father had been selected by a fuser and thus became a Contingent. His mother was scared to live without his father around to make her feel secure in their hometown, but Padraic was still just too young to make the move to Coalesce. So his parents decided it was best to wait until Padraic was a bit older, even if that meant they would be apart. His mother worked hard to support the two of them while they never saw a single penny from his father. Padraic was a good student and often read books and tinkered with whatever he could get his hands on - radios, toasters, heaters, toys, computers, etc. Once, when his mother was held up sick for a few days, he created a few new ways to do chores - automated clothesline, a kitchen helper to chop up vegetables, and nothing less than a roomba for the floors. He always had a knack for fixing gizmos and gadgets. Whatever he could do to make things easier on the ones he loved. When he was sixteen, he took part in an apprenticeship at a nearby mechanic's shop, able to now work with larger machines ranging from household appliances to vehicles. Robotics had caught his eye and ignited a passion he still has to this day. After two years working with other mechanics, he knew the next step was to enlist in the military - where he could get his hands on the bigger toys - but when he thought of joining the military, he thought about his mother crying at night because she knew that her husband wasn't coming home. What would she think if he joined the military? Would she support him? Padraic thought that as long as he kept to the Xydian military that his mother would be fine. He wasn't going to abandon her like his father, and even after joining the ranks of the military and being selected by a fuser, he vowed to keep that promise.

- However as ambitious or imaginative as he is, Squall can't shake his consistent lethargy. His sleeping pattern is always skewed and leaves him prioritizing certain things - such as not keeping tidy, leaving out dirty dishes, or leaving his clothes all over the place. Squall also depends on no one other than Padraic, and that is only because the soldier has grown on him. He's very self-reliant, keeping himself independent and rather guarded. He doesn't open up easily to anyone else and even his social life pertains to his work with mechanics - unless called away for his military duties. Squall understands the necessity in things and won't be too frivolous in his spending. Everything does have a function. Overall, though, he is the one to call for a job that needs to be done proficiently, efficiently, and cautiously. He is dedicated to his work and will not stop until the desired results are reached.

- Padraic didn't join the Contingents right away - having signed up strictly for the engineering department - but was convinced to at least try and connect with a crystal.
