Long story short: he was drunken and got too far from the magical aura that protected them from being seen.
Unfortunately he ran up against a few-similarly drunken- bandits.
After teasing him with his outfit, the things turned into assault.
If Noctis is really angry, he is a dreadful foe("berserker mode")
That occured to the attackers soon and they hit him below the belt, with knives and staffs.

That's when he got the scar by his mouth and forehead(which was transformed into a moon by Kuutamo).
Because of that hit he lost counsciousness and then Kuutamo found him just before the end.
She captured Noctis's piece of soul into a ruby which she always wears in her neck.
If Kuutamo dies, so will Noctis.

Their relationship is not a master-slave type, they are lovers...
Though Kuutamo's main power is seduction...(she gets her mana from the pleasures of the flesh...)

Noctis lost most of his "satyr characteristics" after that incident.
He is no longer a wild womanizer, nor a heavy drinker.
He became rather depressed and dumb dog.
(He did the scars beneath his eyes in one very depressed moment with his nails, because he thinks he doesn't deserve to live...)
Temperate,often broody,crabby and sarcastic.
Nevertheless he is helpful, self-sacrificing(for those who really important to him),polite(though this is more likely aloofness)
He can't bear seeing any torture or pain, his every part wants to help.
He is reckless, doesn't scared of any physical pain anymore.

Though he doesn't show it too often or intensely, he can really appreciate every little things.
His favourite activities are staring at the stars, listening to the voice of babbling water, rain and whispering, crying trees.
He can do this for hours...

He is calm, sometimes annoyingliy, but beneath the surface he is a volcano.
His "old" self comes out when he is drunken.(This happens mostly when Kuutamo "accidentally" gives him something XD...)
At such times he is a real satyr...a little prankster
Everything is challenging and fun, no mark of the calmness before...
