I think there actually was a planned sequel in the works, but for some reason (I think the guy behind it died or something) it was either never completed, or was only released in japan as part of a collection of works celebrating the guy's life. I might be wrong on that, though.

Awesome movie, i loved it for 16 years since i was 15 when i had a fansub tape and have it copied on DVD-R, one of my fave animes.
She is also one of my furry dreamgirls for a long time, i've been a furry fan for 27 years thanks to Cleo on Heathcliff and Cheetara on Thundercats plus i always had a fascination for feline girls.
Anyone thinks this episode influenced that Batman TAS episode?

yes, that was a very sad moment. i felt my heart stop when i thought Ryosuke killed her with his knife, especially when Bagi recognized him and hesitated to finish him off.

The reason why Mr. Osamu wrote Bagi was because he was against the idea of genetic tampering. Also one last fact, Bagi was infact named after Bahgeera (sp?) from Disney's The Jungel Book.

He didn't killed Bagi after all! He just hurts her. Like Kemonolove says, she leaves footprints and disappear, which confirms that she's surely alive, and when credits scroll on screen, Bagi runs on the background, which also confirms she's alive. It's only a sad separation, no more. This information is for those who says he killed Bagi.
