Description
Sorry for the hideous title. And that possible spelled wrong word. But I'm afraid I'm uncreative. So! Has anyone else ever thought that Neji's acceptance of fate and predetermination and all that were slightly similar to that of the Calvanists or early Europe? And, of course, if Neji is/was a Calvanist, that means Naruto is most definitly a follower of Tabula Rasa, by...John Locke I believe. Though I might have that spelled wrong too.
Of course, I intend no actual religion in here, just the basic concepts behind them.
Calvinism: I have no idea what it includes in its all, but Neji definetly has the idea of "Fate is decided when you are born. Rich men are already determined. You can't fight." Mind you, this is before Neji converted to what I think would be Naruto's approach.
Tabula Rasa: Blank Slate. Again, just using the basic idea, Tabula Rasa is the idea that a person's life, education, experiences, and all that junk are built up as he goes, and start out empty, or "Blank", when born. If something happens to him when he's 14, that will change his course in life, or not neccessarily change it, but...it wasn't definetly going to happen, and there is still a way to go for your goal.
Of course, I'm sorry if you find fault in either of these summeries, and of course, let me know so I can change 'em.
Anywho, as for the picture itself........ Well, I'd used Oekaki before, but the site I was on wouldn't let me save the pictures. So I tried another site. When that wouldn't let me save pictures I determined it was my computer's fault, and decided I would just take screencaps. Which is what I did. Hence the bad quality. Although I added the text on Photoshop...
Naruto looks far too happy. As for their clothes...I was originally going to make them all priest-y like, but...that looked wrong. And I don't know what they ended up as. Oh well!

I believe I could offer some explanation, if you are interested. "Calvinists" usually do not like using the term "Calvinism" outside of groups which understand the term, given how easy it is to misunderstand and how often it is misrepresented. Calvinism is better understood with other, broader terms, such as Reformed theology, Augustinianism, Puritanism, of historic Protestantism. It is often assumed that Calvinism is simply a sect of Christianity that emphasizes divine predestination, which is ambiguously thought of as nothing more than fatalism. Calvinism is much too broad a worldview to explain here in detail (see such documents as the Westminster Confession of Faith), but to briefly explain the concept of predestination in Calvinism: God is held, as the Bible defines Him, as being sovereign over all things and events, including man's salvation. Because Adam and Eve represented all people and sinned in the Garden of Eden, mankind shares in the consequences, being born as slaves to evil and unable to do good except by God's grace. Thus all people are born condemned because the punishment for sin is eternal death, as the Bible explains. God's predestination is his choosing, before the creation of the world, what people would receive justice—and face their due condemnation—and what people would receive grace—and be saved from condemnation through Christ. As regards all events, God has planned, since the before the creation of the universe, everything that would happen. Humans in Calvinism are viewed not as having a "free" will--for all people are either enslaved to evil, or to Christ—but rather as being free agents, that is, free to choose, which is restricted by their nature. Calvinism is not fatalism because the latter, by definition, is an impersonal and mechanistic determination of the ends and not the means. Calvinism, however, is a supremely personal determination with both the means and the ends determined, where humans are agents and are freest when slaves to Christ.

I stand corrected! Thank you for such an in depth explaination. They really didn't do it justice in school...

You're welcome, it was my pleasure. For me, in school "Calvinism" was a dirty word and, even in college, no one ever treated it as more than a profanity of sorts.

From your user name, it should come as no surprise that you supplied such an accurate depiction of Reformed theology.
Though I have to say, I've always worn the lable "Calvinist" with pride, and so have everyone I know. I don't know of any Calvinists who dislike the term.

Huh. I have never noticed it before, but Neji DOES seem like a Calvinist, especially since he is all strict and such. The picture is a bit blurry, though, and it is a bit difficult to read Neji's words. However, all-around, this is excellent!

Woo! Someone knows what I was talking about!
I know it's pretty bad quality. Maybe someday I'll actually do a full-out, GOOD version! Hahahah! But, thanks!

It is good! Simply a bit blurry...

True,Naruto and Neji do have odd clothes, especially Neji, those beads to me look more like a pearl necklace and I don't know what to say about the coat but that's to me at first, which is funny to picture him crossdressing Great coloring and though Naruto does look a bit too happy,it's still too cute >w<
