Description ~Bubba's Ballet Animation~

Little Bubba has been practicing for her school ballet presentation, but there is one particular step that she always get stuck with. But she won't give up - she will keep practicing until she gets it right, or else people will never take catgirls seriously!

Note: this is an unfinished animation I created last year and decided to post it now as it is, because Bubba-chan looks cute dancing. ^^

Thanks for coming by!

Oh but I did make Anime games in the past, by the time where I was working for a Japanese game company from Gunma. Well, I didn't "make" the games, but rather worked on their games as a programmer (not an artist). I am still hoping to post my own Anime games here at dA, depending on collabs with other artists that are currently on hold on. ^^

Well I think I am a much better programmer than I am an artist.

This is engaging to watch, even tho the movement across the floor is artificially held stationary within the narrow frame. But you would need to make a very wide pic to show the on-floor movement.
Cute stuff anyway.

Thank you! This is one of my very early animations. You can see my other ones here [link] where many include not only animation but my original music tracks as well!

The character is a 3D model. Like all of my other animations, I animated and rendered it in Poser.
Here is some more of her --> [link] and another chibi --> [link]

Thank you! My very early attempts on animation also coincided with my 1st attempts on cel-shading, and this was a result of that.

Oh don't worry, I know what I am doing here and Ben is just one more of the *many* flamers who came here before. Really, don't worry - he's just making a fool of himself in public and I am still having fun.

Hi Ken

I just realise that it'll probably be a 2D anime film rather than 3D. Do you think you can do 2D? Have you got any example of your past work that you can send to me. Preferrably via [link] to my email i.thanh@yahoo.com. Cheers

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ken1171 In reply to kiyoshite [2007-06-05 05:12:20 +0000 UTC]

As for your first question, that depends. This animation you see here was actually made with a 3D model, using a celshading technique that makes it look like 2D. I have more examples of that technique here --> [link] [link] [link] where 3D animations were deliberately meant to look like 2D.

Similar techniques were used in a variety of Japanese Anime featured movies, such as Masamune Shirow's "Apple Seed 2004" and Studio Ghibli's "Howl's Moving Castle". This integration of 2D + 3D can be a time saver when it comes to animation pipelines that are more flexible and manageable. If this is the approach your company is looking for, then I can help you. Otherwise my skills with 3D animations will be of no use for you.

I see what you mean. Appleseed is pretty cool and the best application of 3D Live Anime i've seen to date. We've got a script but haven't finalised the format just yet. I'll have a word with to writer and the team on this. Cheers Ken.
