This is a more successful design than the recent film version, because real turtle anatomy (the nose, shell, and face) was blended with humanoid traits, and is still faithful to the source material.

I really like this version and it kinda bugs me that people go "Ew they have big lips and weird noses!" upon seeing the leaked movie poster - if you want to see a realistic anthropomorphisized turtle that's capable of articulating human speech don't expect it to look pretty.

Yes, that bugged me so much because in every version of the TMNT when normal people see the turtles, they run away in fear. So it would make sense for the turtles to look gross or even disturbing.

Finally, you said it, ARTICULATION! Without lips or well some kind of soft movable lip-kinda-things...it will be pretty hard to talk like a human being. I understand that people are a little bit shocked, especially after all the cartoons, but in my opinion they didn't do such a bad job, I think it is Mikey who has a bigger face than the other turles, comparing with Leonardo I can see the beak, especially on the scene in the snow.

Have you ever considered to draw a series like this with other characters as the real Flintstones, the real Jetsons, the real Scooby-Doos, the real Herculoids, the real Galaxy Trio, the real Birdman, the real Space Ghost, the the real Impossibles, real Samsom and Goliath, the real Dragon Ball's characters, the real Powerpuff Girls (grown of course), and so many oithers?
Taking only old Hanna-Barbera carotons you already have a rich stuff of characters...

Wow, you really captured Raphael's bad-boy (or rather bad-turtle
I am not sure Raphael would be smoking a cigar though - sensei Splinter (the Master Rat)
would definitely have a fit!
Unless Splinter is long dead and Raphael has become an outcast from his team,
and turned into a vigilante. That would suit the mood of this depiction perfectly.
Apart from the cigar (though the smoke is nicely done), my only other concern about this artwork
is the sprinkles of dried blood (perhaps from one of his recent victims?). It looks too flat
(was probably added as an afterthought) and does not blend (or rather curve) with his beefy thigh.
It might be suitable to have the blood-stains on the ying-yang belt clasp though, to show
that his original moral values are become increasingly forgotten as his personality becomes
darker, grittier and brooding.
Rest of the character details are perfect, and very vividly done, with a lot of hard work and focus.
