She was falling. Where to and when it would end, she didn't know. But she was falling, air rushing past her ears, a distant howl. Buildings sprawled on one side, dark shapes lit by gold and magenta windows, yet their light hit nothing. On the other side clouds rolled, lit with swirling lines of a similar gold and magenta. All around her the sunset horizon spread, littered with distant stars. She kept falling, the world changing yet staying the same She craned her neck downwards, but saw nothing but the landscape of buildings and clouds, and the ever present dawn. And yet, despite the howling wind and the gentle whispers from the inside of her skull, she didn't feel scared. She did not remember how she got here, or why she was here, or where she was going, but that was fine. Things would be fine. She just had to listen to the voice and things would be fine. Everything was okay, everything was good. Everything was...

It... was...

What... was the voice saying again? She couldn't hear it. She twisted her ears, but could not hear it. A continous stream of mumbling. She adjusted her ears, backwards and forwards and strained, but she could not hear it over the wind.

No, not over the wind. It was inside her head. And outside too. And yet its voice was muffled, hidden in many layers, sounds she knew to be words but could not understand. Why couldn't it speak louder, clearer? Then she could understand it, and everything would be okay.

Where... was she?

A sudden shot of cold went through her body. She gasped, but no air came in. She looked down but saw only the same buildings and clouds. She blinked, opened her mouth, and tried to call out, but no sound came. Where was she? Why was she falling? Where was the end? Was there one? What would happen if she reached it? Would it-

She hit something hard and awoke in darkness, panting in cold sweat, heart pounding.

And here is Dawn's dreamsurge! There isn't as much symbolism in this one. This didn't quite turn out like what I had planned, but I'm still pleased with the outcome!

Now I can finally give Dawn and Silver their warlock upgrades
