Just the pure fact you were indeed able to capture all this action in one frame is astounding. The beautiful redness of the butterfly, and the strong blue colours of the hummingbird, the way the green foliage blends with the bird and the awkward plate of dried fruit. All of the composition turning out well in such a rare and fast paced shot is amazing. The focus point is dead on, and the clarity is perfectly in agreement. I really don't have anything bad to say about this, and it was done very well.
Spectacular job, my friend. Well done indeed.

Thank you so much for such a kind and encouraging critique! It's very much appreciated. <3 This is my first time really photographing wildlife, but with such a positive response to it, I might have to take a second trip with better equipment!

Indeed you should. That is a magnificent piece and I would like to see more like it. The critique is very positive and true, but understated. Then again it is hard to find words for such a picture.

I've been trying to catch a shot of a hummingbird around my house forever. They are so fast! I love the colors in this though and it's just a wonderful capture.

My advice is to up the shutter speed and shoot like mad! xD Composition comes second when trying to capture one of those super fast buggers on film!
I'm glad you liked it!

Thanks for the advice! I will definitely try it out. They're camera shy around here it seems.

Thank you! <3
It really is hard! I've never photographed one before, and I saw him zipping around and just kept firing, hoping that one shot would have frozen him in place. Fortunately, this one did it. The other shots, he's just a blur!

I love that third one! You seem to be using a fast enough shutterspeed, but perhaps you may want to shoot a little faster, and if the exposure isn't right, fix it in post process.
I got lucky with that shot because it was overcast the entire day.
