Got this exciting action pose artwork from whom I commissioned for this piece. I asked for the seldom seen black catsuit version to mix things up and apparently there were some questions about the black vs. red catsuits.

I do sometimes have complicated and mysterious reasons for some of my artistic choices but this time it's actually rather simple. When I first started out, I was torn between giving Dark Siren either a red or a black catsuit for her costume. I was still new to the whole idea of presenting my OC to an audience and thought 95% of my posts would be prose fiction with a few pieces of commissioned art to give readers a visual reference. And maybe an annual Christmas art image I would commission or something like that.

Eventually I went with two costumes, one red and the other black. Black is a classic color for a catsuit, but also many OC's that wear a catsuit also choose black. Red is also nice visually to stand out against villains wearing dark clothes and also at night. My thinking at the time was to commission art 50% red catsuit and 50% black. The color of the costume wouldn't be quite so important in the prose works.

But as it turned out, early 3D renders happened to be in the red costume (apparently not always simple to swap colors in 3D) as well as some well done 2D stuff. I got the feeling she became somewhat recognizable in the red suit so I went just with it.

However, I still like both looks (and made the black one the default catsuit for concerts) so I like to sometimes commission artwork featuring the alternate costume, as is the case here. Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy!
