I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain. ----Joyce Kilmer

This lovely tree is Florida’s largest Live Oak. Estimated age has it lifting its leafy arms before Columbus “discovered” America. It’s in a very, very remote area in north Florida, so I was surprised to see anyone there, much less 2 human robins making a picnic nest in its branches. They were bicycle wanderers, living and loving the moment. Who knows how their lives turned out or if they are still together. But I’m sure they remember this lovely tree on a lovely day, as I do.
