Description

The seed of maple trees are paired, winged Samaras. The wings cause the seed to rotate like a discerning helicopter, which carries the seed further away to find better growing conditions. In this case that didn’t work. Duckweed is the smallest flowering plant and floats on the water surface, often totally carperting still water bodies. Sometimes negatively called pond scum, but actually the plants have high protein levels and can be processed for animal feed, and in some locations, human food. My only problem with duckweed is that it hides submerged alligators.
