Memories warp to mirror emotions, the state of mind.
A toe out of line, the wall of self-restraint crumbles and rage is released.
The memory of the kind girl who no longer lives, becomes the ominous icy mist that stems from his power.
And thus the boy who is angered, becomes the Shadow of himself.

Meh. I've been tweaking a lot of things for my fanfic (Like continuously screw my characters up) and this is one of them. Because my headcanon is that Danny's powers are influenced by emotions (mostly his own) and he has a 'dark' side to him just like everyone else. This 'dark' side is triggered when he's exceptionally angry, upset, or really just loses it. His ice powers only really developed later on, but yet another headcanon of mine is that in his 'malevolence' state, his powers manifest a little differently. He can't really control the ice powers when he hasn't practiced them, but they are in tune with his emotions, thus it forms to 'aid' him.

In a weird way. *shrug* But yea. Here.
