Description This is the view of Brisbane from the Story Bridge. After a weekend of 41 degree temperatures this storm came through.

There is a reason a lot of Brisbane's pictures are taken at night, and that's because dredging in the river caused it to turn brown. Only at night does it once again become almost presentable.

Wonderful, confirms why I love night cityscape shots. Anyway, just a thought, looking at the bottom right makes me think of GTA: Vice City for some reason. Heh, great detailed photo.

there's something really dramatic about this. it's very well done - the dark clouds add even more to it. ^^

Strange. The colour of the sky and river are so... greeny brown... You can still see the dirtiness. This will sound cheesy, yes, but it looks like the buildings are on one side, and nature on the other and they're battling it out or something. God, how do people manage to sleep with it so bright? And I thought our having snow reflecting light in every which way was annoying.

Anyay, yeah... Nice shot.

Nice analogy, didn't think of that before hand, but yeah, sounds cool
It's not actually THAT bright when your there (trick of photography ), plus on the other hand I would love to get snow!

It's quite stunning, and the tones and contrasts are wonderful, along with the reflections...well done..and thanks for the bit of history, too.

kenzor In reply to bookdiva [2004-03-05 09:05:56 +0000 UTC]

Hehe, no probs. What is more interesting is a lot of postcards in Brisbane have changed the colour of the river in photoshop or whatever. The really dodgy ones forget to change the colour in the reflection of the buildings so it's still brown there

qda [2004-03-05 06:05:02 +0000 UTC]

this is a long exposure shot right?

kenzor In reply to qda [2004-03-05 09:06:59 +0000 UTC]

yep, i think around 4 seconds. it's probably a bit too exposed in areas.
