Since yesterday from going on a field trip to a art gallery I got inspired to try out the paints I got for my birthday^^. I actually kinda don't like painting sense I suck at it but I enjoy it hehe. I printed out the line art of my digital drawing of my OC Sonsha and and also the color version(I was screaming all night looking at my baby) after coloring his background I'm so full of inspired to use one of my canvas I have, maybe draw all my oc on it then I can hang it up in my room I been doing alot of different things like I have been sketching with a PEN! ik I have gone insane,but let me explain I talked with a girl on my field trip and her art was so unique it was so cute and I asked her how did she get her characters to look like that in her sketch book, and she said she used pen. Me and her was very similar before we love to reference from real life perspective it s helps ur art alot to understand the shapes, curves, and hues of the world. She said using a pen to sketch kinda makes ur mind focus more on line strokes, darkness&lightness, shapes of the body, how things flowed an overlap and she was completely right. I tried out sketching with a pen a few hours before I started painting, and for my first time using a pen I will give my self a 6 out of a10 , I sketch 2 pictures in 15 mins and when I use pencils it takes me 20 mines to sketch and final line it sense ik I can erase if I make any mistakes.
You guys I'm telling you if you love doing traditional try out sketching with a pen it will change you mind set of how you see things for the better, you don't have to worry about smudging, marks from when you press to hard.
