Description
Cover art for the upcoming book named Offspring (The Sword of the Dragon Book 2) by Scott Appleton [link]The book will be published in in Spring 2011.
Originally I didn't go with that costume and made the sword differently, here's the first sketch:

But the author was strict about his descriptions so the first version turned out like this:

Finally they thought the backlights drew too much attention so I turned this into a night scene.

I noticed on the author's site that he asked you to redo the cover because this one seemed to "sexually provocative". Personally I see nothing sexual about the image. Maybe I'm just blind to it or it's just the probably over rantings of a conservative soccer mom. Though as said I see nothing wrong with the cover.
That aside, fantastic work on this one and the new cover, as well as the one for Key of Living Fire.

Wow, this is so beautiful. I read the first book, and I'm looking forward to reading this one as well. I love the final version; it looks good as a night scene. Though, I have to admit, I like your original costume design, even if it doesn't fit with the story.

As an author and reader, thank you THANK YOU for changing the initial to better reflect the story. Most of us writers can't draw what the words can paint and seeing the final book in hand with a cover that reflects the text inside makes the whole insane project finally worth it.

I liked the progression from sketch to final and the way it turned out. The ornate dress tells of a mysterious & important magical land quality to the illustration. Background etc - You did a great job !

I love the outfit in both versions, and in my opinion, the original scene looked better

Beautiful detail in the clothing, I love the way the glow lights up her face, especially at her brows & her hair, also the way it changes to colour of her gown where it touches it. Great scene!

Beautiful work. I must say, the preliminary versions are pretty great too, but I do like the finished one best. The mix of blue tone to the background really makes the sword pop out and be noticed.

Wow gratz kerembeyit. All of your drawings are pretty good, but this one is purel awesome ^^ Although, the woman and the sword are so good, that the background already looks a little bleak/monotonous in comparison again, IMHO. I rather see her in a likewise moody dungeon (be it a cool-lighted goblins' or a fancy dwarfs' one). (But I think both decisions were right: dress and background look best in this version)
