this reminds meof something i learned about hitler while watching a documentary. hitler was a bit obsessed with having THE secret weapon and poured lots of money into research programs.
though in the end, besides prototypes like the Maus tank and even then, nothing came out that could be used on the battlefield effectively. nothing was finalized if i remember correctly.

but it's good that nothing came out - while the war was, later the americans invented jets and other stuff based of the experiments.
may old teacher said to me: for commensense those expirements were hoorible and cruel, but for all scientist, it was the first time some *never do that*-rules were broked, without getting in jailed for it

i remember a tv documentary on the historic channel that talked about a conqueror from antiquity (forgot the name be he is widely known) that tried to do the "secret weapon" thing by using elephants to invade to place that never saw those before.

I like it, though I think it is not ideological (like you intended) and simply fantasy. Numerous movies and other media have been made about Nazi tech and with good reason, many technological advancements of this era came from german advancements both from those that did and did not defect. German scientists are one of the main groups that developed space travel but, even with all the great minds the had, their single minded hate and bitterness at their treatment ofter the Great War couldn't overcome the rest of the world.
America at the time would likely not have a robot since the rest of the world lagged behind german tech, but it wouldn't have made a difference.
