The choice to position the machine's eyes at the staff aside from Hitler was a great choice. It makes the piece feel unbound by time, as though there is still a faction in Germany that has been developing a.i. since the 40's...
Imagine if Germany never lost.. I don't support Nazis, but to picture how far they would have gone.. I wonder what their technology would have been like, how different things would have become.
