so here's an update of the monk head. not sure if I'm going forward or backward but I also tested setting him in front of an early render of the environment he's to be in (same lighting set up also) and at least that looks decent. I also dropped the resolution because I realized I could do it with normal maps and not worry about it, the character will be quite small.next up is the red obsidian spires for the environment. wooo.

My only suggestion would be to slightly blur the bump map, it looks a little too extreme, which kinda makes him look more solid rather than organic.
details are looking awesome though! great work
