Hi Kernunnos23, this is a wonderful artwork. We would love to use this for an educational powerpoint in a Recovery College in Australia. We would of course acknowledge your site here. Please let me know if that is OK, kind regard, Sonia

Nice work! Depicted connection and the larger perspective really help to put this concept in its place. To me those are aspects of the psyche perceiving specific portions along the emotional spectrum of experience. I look forward to when we can learn to see in emotional spectrums as much as we focus on perceiving the physical light spectrum of sensory input. It might sound esoteric but that's only because the official line of consciousness culture that defines everything from its isolated, rigid and somewhat frightened perspective can only access a limited scope of the potential in reality.  Beautiful skill and expression Kernunnos23!

I live with bipolar disorder and I love this image. It was perfect for a poem I shared on my blog today. I have linked the image back to this page and given you credit for the picture. Thank you for creating such a meaningful image. Here's a link to my blog, if you'd like to see it... seekingmeme.wordpress.com/2013…

I love the art style; I love the picture. I also absolutely LOVE the way you drew the demon. I keep on looking back at it. heh d:

This has also helped me explain bipolar to people (I'm not bipolar but if someone has a question about something like this they always come to me). For ages my friend and I were using her hair to help out but... yeah, that only worked in our minds.

I think of bands like Pink Floyd when I see this... dunno why... :3

I just wanted to say thank you for making this picture. I am bipolar, and it is often to explain to people the dual-nature of the world I live in. This picture has helped a few times.

This sums it up perfectly for me. One side dark, depressed and lifeless, and the other one bright and cheerful, but still with that crazy, manic glint in her eyes. And the hair...

Wow, this about covers it. I'm bipolar, and it's funny, whenever I'm on the depression side of things I always say I'm "fighting off demons". The minute I saw this picture I was like OMGOSH that's it!! Thanks for drawing this.

Wow, this is exactly who I feel like, except I have borderline personality disorder. I have identity issues and my two main identities are like these in the picture.

Thanks. I get that a lot. I was married to a woman who was bipolar and my daughter may be borderline...

I'm sure. If it's not that, she may be bipolar or something else. She definitely has some kind of mental illness or severe mood disorder.

you did a wonderful job of showing the vast difference between the ups and downs of being bipolar. that image shows exactly how I feel my life goes.

Thanks very much. I actually hear similar comments fairly frequently. Perhaps having been married to someone who was bipolar has something to do with it...

SacredDragon [2008-11-12 20:45:51 +0000 UTC]

Wow, now this is fantastic work! You really show the differences between the two mood extremes, the first all sunshine and sweets, the second all dark, angry and forboding. The differences between the colours and themes used is brilliant and striking, and really gives this feeling and depth! I love the added humour too, where manic is leading depression by the hand and looks so carefree and squee, and depression looks so sullen and withdrawn.

The goth/depressed girl looks like how Faith is portrayed in the Buffy comics (and I don't just mean how she dresses; it's in the face). I think the contrast between the girls themselves is cool.
