Let's NOT Sympathize With The Killer!

My Thoughts:
Sooo, I think we've all heard the news about Jeff the Killer getting his very own movie, haven't we?
At first, I was interested about the idea, until I read one sentence from the director's statement about his new movie:

"You won’t feel sorry for the victims! You will empathize with Jeff and want him to finish them off as quickly and brutally as possible.
We have always wanted to make a movie where the bad guy wins!"

What? Since when should anyone feel empathy for a serial killer? Just because he had such a "bad" past?

While the visual of the trailer looked really good, it still came off as someone making an artsy music video rather than an actual movie teaser.
(Seriously - just throw in any black metal music to the teaser and it will look like a music video.)

The only time you should feel empathy is for the victim - you're suppose to be in the shoes of the victim.
Being in the shoes of a serial killer sounds more like extreme angst just bouncing all over the walls.
The only time it would be fun for the bad guy to win is if it were a video game or a movie full of victims you REALLY want dead,
like all the Friday the 13th movies, because of Jason's past that makes him want to kill these young people that have their sex-drive on overload.
Or how you empathize with Josh when his sisters were killed because of the prank that went wrong (Until Dawn.)

THOSE are the type of killers you can understand and actually see why they want these types of people dead.
But Jeff? What the hell can you feel sorry for him for? For being mugged and burnt up bad?
Well, Freddy went through a horrible fire, but no one empathizes with him (cuz he's an insane son-of-a-bitch that don't give any fucks for days.)

So, here's a Jeff the Killer that MANY people would never stand behind for his reasons for killings:

In my version, Jeff the Killer starts off as a child who was taught by his single father that "no one else is right - you are always correct,"
which grew a kingly complex to Jeff. When he turned 10 years old, he witnessed his father being verbally abusive to his new girlfriend.
At first, Jeff was afraid, but then his father taught him that this was the best way to show power.
Jeff didn't listen at first, but when he arrived to school and was picked on by the older kids, Jeff began to learn from afar by his father's abusive nature to be more assertive.
When he turned 15, after 5 years of becoming insensitive, Jeff was a freshman bully that would get his way or the highway.

He was the classic type of bully - he would shove anyone out of his way; insult people about their appearance;
throw a hissy fit if he didn't get his way; and would choose any student vulnerable to tease and bully for days or weeks until he grew bored.

Fights broke out a lot between Jeff and boys, so much that Jeff was transferred to a new school at the grade of senior.
That is where he met his new girlfriend - one that he became verbally and physically abusive to.
She never went for help, because Jeff was playing the "I'm so sorry, I couldn't help myself, I'm a monster!" card, which made her sympathize him and stay.

But after an entire year together, finally graduated and moving on from teenhood, Jeff had ran into his girlfriend's sister - he's never met her before.
They hooked up, and sure enough, Jeff cheated on his girlfriend with her sister.

It wasn't long until Jeff's girlfriend realized what was happening behind her back from a friend, and it snapped her sanity at this point.
She waited for Jeff to come home - with a male friend to help her. When Jeff got home, he was immediately jumped and attacked by the male friend.
He was beaten to the point of unconsciousness, enough time for the girlfriend to have her sweet revenge and destroy Jeff.
She dumped alcohol on his face and burnt him, awakening him front the blackout. He burnt for a good five minutes, until the fire went out and
a knife was at his mouth. The girlfriend carved giant cuts into Jeff's cheeks, as memory when Jeff would force her to smile in public and pretend she was "okay."

After the entire event, they released him - they were trying to beat him some more, but Jeff was able to force his way out of the male friend's clutches and
make a beeline for the front door. He quickly ran out, with nothing but the shirt on his back.
He knew he had been outmatched - something he loathes to no end. He decided to stop playing cat-and-mouse and get back at his girlfriend.
He started with her family - he made sure to kill them all individually in their bedrooms, first murdering her parents by beating them to death with a bat.
Then, he went to kill her little brother by suffocation.

Not hearing from them in days, the girlfriend went over to see if they were fine. Sure enough, she found the scene, and Jeff was still there.
He surprised her with a bat to the back of her head, then dragging her downstairs into her own basement to torment.
He cut a smile into her face as revenge, beat her senseless with his fists and a metal bat with a nail driven into it, and forced her to plead for her life as he filmed it all
with her family's camcorder.

Hours later, Jeff finally killed her off by snapping her neck, and left with the bat. He found this bloodshed more exciting than regular abuse,
and so, his story goes on.
