I loved reading Parasyte/Kiseijuu back in high school both for its beautiful illustrations as well as the story of a sentient being inhabiting the protagonist's right hand. The themes of life and death and it's questioning the reason for human existence really struck a chord with me and to this day it remains one of my favorite mangas. The 2014 anime reignited my love for it and making this costume is my love letter to the artist, Iwaaki Hitoshi.

Sculpting the prosthetics for this was fun! I lifecasted my fingers and sculpted over them in chavant clay. They were then molded in silicone, cast in polyfoam and blended onto my fingers with gelatin. The eyeball was made from friendly plastic and painted with acrylics and fiberglass resin for the translucency on the iris. The lips were sculpted in chavant and cast in gelatin. They were painted with alcohol paint and pax!
