left. the eternal condition / recurrence, seems to me. choiceless, as however we keep making choices and continue to choose, none of us chose life.
between. stuck. trapped. "nothing to return to . . ." begs (beginning, after all, starts with beg) the question -- was there a something to have come from?

You look like a statue, broken and forgotten. This is a really powerful image, and the extreme darkness adds to the power...it looks creepy, and very emotive.
